The Introductions: Who is this guy and his cat?
If you are curious, click the button below if you want to take a look at or listen to the master playlist I am using for piano practice
This is a set list for when I want to do a marathon. It's heavy on expressive songs that require some finesse to play well and that makes me concentrate harder and explore them a little differently each time I play. I sometimes go through the entire list, but more often choose which songs I want to do and place them in a queue.
I purposely made this lists public so that other lists of similar material are suggested. I sometimes find a song that may have slipped my mind, or one I do not know; it helps round out my exposure to new things. It is undeniable that I have some real favorites that I love to listen to and play.
Some bands are of a style unsuited to the creation of a piano part for the work, but if I can create a fun piano part for songs like the B52's 'FUNPLEX', then almost every band has some material that's a possibility. If there's a part in there, I will more than likely enjoy the challenge of finding it.
If you're a keyboardist and also come up with hybrid piano parts to play along with the group you're into, get in touch and tell me a bit about how you find your parts in the songs. Learning about other's choices and why they make them increases our knowledge and leads to better rehearsals and therefore, more fun!

An ad for my song Heaven that ended in a Fight with Facebook
Left: An ad given to graduates from Musixmatch that is a 30 second clip that features some lyrics from the song She's Got Everything, one single verse of the song.
And below, check out what happened when I posted the lyric ad on Facebook, and it's not the first time something like this has happened. I think this is episode #5 of the Jim Sues Himself Show.
When Musixmatch, the company from whose program I graduated so that I could add lyrics legally to any music published, gave us graduates small ad videos that featured our lyrics, I thought that was great - free ads are always great - but when I posted the ad for Heaven on Facebook, the music distribution company that places all my music on worldwide streaming services blocked the video, claiming they owned the copyright, which is not true, as I am the author and copyright owner. I disputed the claim and they released it so that any ad monies related to the video clip are given to me by right.
I have had the same kind of problem with Warner Brothers legal, claiming that when I posted my own videos to certain sights I broke the law re copyright infringement. I had to do battle with the giant that is Warner and of course, I won, because had they just checked the distribution company they would have seen that I am in fact the owner they claimed to represent by suing me, the owner who 'broke the law".
This problem persists for me even though all videos clearly indicate me as the owner of the copyright. I can't understand why, but it does. At least I keep winning the disputes and haven't sued myself yet!
